Israel cannot export the Arrow system without Washington’s approval, since the US funded part of its development since its start in the 1980s. Until today, no such approval has ever been given. Now, with the awakening of this issue among NATO countries, a change might occur.

The Green Pine radar, on the other hand, is an Israeli radar produced by Elta – a subsidiary of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI).

India is investing in systems for ballistic missile interception, and is utilizing the Green Pine AESA radar for detecting these missiles – a system that was developed for the Israeli Arrow system and sold to India.

The threat of ballistic missiles is global, and is especially important since missiles and rockets can become tools for terror organizations. The events of the Second Lebanon War in Israel’s northern region and the current events in its southern region are small but significant reminders to what could happen in other area of the world.
